FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common questions about eye health

When should I have my first eye examination?

A first comprehensive eye examination is recommended between the ages of 4 and 5. If you have no eye problems, a check-up every 2 years until the age of 18, and every year after that, is advisable to maintain good eye health.

What should I expect during cataract surgery?

During cataract surgery, the clouded lens is replaced with a clear artificial one. The procedure is performed as a day case and is usually painless thanks to local anaesthesia. We use advanced technology to ensure precision and safety. Most patients notice a marked improvement in their vision within a short time and can resume their daily activities with minimal aftercare.

What are the symptoms of dry eye syndrome and how is it treated?

Dry eye syndrome causes burning, itching, redness and blurred vision. It may be caused by environmental factors, tear film problems or ageing. Treatment ranges from artificial tears and lifestyle changes to more advanced procedures, depending on severity. During a consultation, I will assess your symptoms and needs to determine the right approach to relieve your discomfort.
